Join us and start doing your life’s best work.Working under minimal supervision and collectively with the Medicare sales department, this Community Outreach Marketing Specialist is responsible for working in targeted communities to increase enrollment for the Medicare Dual Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs). Specifically, this position is responsible for developing sites and securing organizations for community-based sales and marketing activities that provide membership growth opportunity. This position will also interface with other members of the of the Business Development department to increase marketing synergy and drive overall membership growth.  This is a field-based position, with expected travel of approximately 75% throughout the state of Rhode Island (no overnight travel).  Expectation is for the first 4-5 weeks to be working in our Warwick office.  Strong preference for current Rhode Island Life & Health Insurance Producers License (or must be willing to attain licensure within first 4-5 weeks of employment). If you are located in Rhode Island or border states of Massachusetts or Connecticut, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Investigate, identify, initiate and respond to opportunities to create or participate in marketing activities that lead to membership growth Assist with planning, implementing and coordinating both sales and non – sales events for all assigned  products Reports and tracks various sales event effectivenessAssists with designing and measuring overall sales event strategy Provide input, support and feedback on promotional opportunities, benefits, and other issues Prepare preliminary budget recommendations for each approved eventProperly set up and complete payment process for community eventsEnsure all events are properly filed with appropriate regulatory agencies through the established UHC process Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with key community partnersServe as an ambassador for United Healthcare Plans, prioritizes, organizes and completes work to meet established objectivesPerforms other duties as required
Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED 2+ years of marketing or community outreach field experienceIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook (manage email), Word (create and edit documents), Excel (input data), PowerPoint (create and edit presentations) Access to reliable transportation to travel to client and / or patient sites within Rhode IslandAbility to travel locally up to 75% of the time (no overnights)Ability to work evenings and weekends when requiredAbility to work in our Warwick, RI office during the initial 4 – 5 weeks of employmentMust currently hold or be able to attain a Rhode Island Life & Health Insurance Producers License within first 4-5 weeks of employmentPreferred Qualifications: Medicare and / or Medicaid enrollment experience Demonstrated knowledge of CMS marketing rules and regulations Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plusCareers at UnitedHealthcare Community & State.
